Connections
The Pacific Ocean connects me to my brothers and their families. My oldest brother lives in Astoria, Oregon and my middle brother and his family lives in San Diego, CA.
The Columbia is a powerful river connecting Portland and our community.
This is a very special place of amazing history. Lewis and Clark drank from these streams. They were noble men who respected the Native American Clatsop peoples.
Awareness
There is one toxic conifer called the Pacific Yew. It can be identified by its red berries, shiny bark, and short needles.

There are no poisonous animal beings in our area. The only threats are bear and cougar.
There have been no sightings of either for years. The trail also has some roots to watch out for. This is a a gentle well groomed path.
Mosquitoes can be problematic in the Summer.
The sit spot is located at the arrow. The trail is indicated by the oval black line.
The Pacific Ocean is at the top of the pic and the Columbia enters just to the right.
