This week I had the privilege to bring a one hour cybersex/sexting talk to the Seaside High School Principal, Sheila Roley, and her counseling staff. 30% of students sext and transmit child porn to their peers. The possession of child porn is a Class B felony in Oregon. I will be honored to address your staff with the cutting edge evidence based research on cybersex/sexting, porn blocking and tracking software, and a vision of helping our children and grandchildren. Here is a review from Sheila Roley, Principal of Seaside High School.
Dr. Maiden’s presentation on cybersex was very informative and timely. We really appreciated his time sharing his expertise on this important topic.-Sheila Roley, Principal SHS, Seaside, Oregon.

As a result of Glen Maiden’s presentation on the topic of cybersex, I have greater knowledge of its incident and its impact on high school students. The information caused the counseling and administrative staff to have some much needed conversations about our students, their needs and our plan for addressing this important issue. We have moved from the head-in-the-sand stage to the we-need-a-plan stage as a result of this one hour presentation. Glen’s depth of knowledge and his resources will help us move forward in developing a plan.

It was with great interest as well as trepidation that I attended the talk Dr.
Maiden presented to the youth of Naselle Youth Camp. I was very interested in
what Dr. Maiden had to bring to these young men, as I could see the value in the
message, while I was concerned with what the reaction/response to his talk might
be. For those of you not familiar with the camp, it is a medium security prison for
males, 15 through 20 years of age. The youth here are all convicted felons. Some
of these young men have a history of sexual offenses. All of them have a history
that might lead anyone of us to find ourselves in the same situation, if we had
that same history. If there were any breaks anywhere for these individuals it has
been very difficult to identify them. Some of our youth are homeless, literally
living on the streets of our cities. Most have not had any consistency in their lives,
thus no direction. Dr. Maiden presented a clear, concise talk that was factual as
well as entertaining. The youth started out in a bit of wonderment with what this
was about, but within a short period of time they were attentive and engaged. Dr.
Maiden talked with them, not at them. He presented information that obviously
was of interest to them. To touch and hold the attention of our particular
population is no small feat. My concern was well founded at the end of the
seminar when Dr. Maiden opened the floor for questions. Some of the questions
seemed of a very personal nature, but Dr. Maiden answered them in a very
straightforward way without judgement. He was very professional and
informative. There continues to be discussions, amongst the youth that started
with this talk.
I would like to thank Dr. Maiden for bringing this issue to our residents and staff.
With great respect,
